About World Language Honor Society
World Language Honor Society is an opportunity for students currently enrolled in a world language class at West Linn High School. Membership signifies a student's dedication and passion for language and making global connections. Members further pledge to promote friendship and understanding between their country and others, in the hope that all may live in peace.
Applications for membership can be found below via Google Forms. While each nationally-recognized society may differ slightly by language in terms of membership criteria, the application process is the same for each language. Please refer to your respective application below for any language-specific criteria. There are no meetings nor commitments associated with membership. Membership is based solely on coursework and academics.
Honors cords are reserved for students who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to their language studies by continuing with their coursework as far as possible in high school. Honor cord eligibility may vary by language society and is subject to their respective bylaws. Typically, only senior members in level 4/5/AP or equivalent of their language or students who have maxed out on their language course options prior to senior year are eligible to receive an Honors cord to wear at graduation.
